Marketing services for Markham businesses, and how to choose
Markham rewards businesses that know exactly where they are selling. It is a city of detached family homes, four protected heritage districts, newer planned communities and a long chain of business parks along the 404 and 407 corridors. Markham.Marketing helps trades and local businesses decide which of those markets to chase, then builds the search, ads and website work to win there.
Three Markhams, three kinds of buyer
Most owners we speak with sell into at least one of three quite different markets inside the same city. Naming which one matters most changes almost every decision that follows.
- Homeowners. In the 2021 Census, single-detached houses made up 56.2% of Markham's occupied dwellings, and row houses another 14.4%. That is a lot of roofs, furnaces, basements, driveways and yards owned by the person who also pays for the repair.
- Businesses in the parks. The City's open data lists more than twenty business parks, from Commerce Valley and Cachet to Denison and Steeles. Offices, labs, warehouses and light industrial units there buy cleaning, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, signage and repairs on a schedule.
- Main-street customers. Main Street Unionville and Main Street Markham are compact, walkable strips where retailers, cafés and studios compete for foot traffic and phone enquiries.
Each group searches differently, decides differently and responds to different proof. Our services are organised around that split rather than around a generic agency menu.
What we actually do
We plan, build and run the marketing; you keep doing the work your customers pay for. In practice that means a small set of services, chosen to fit your mix of buyers:
- Local search by community: your Google Business Profile, service-area pages and reviews, focused on the Markham communities you can reach on time.
- Google Ads with a cost ceiling: search campaigns where the maximum you'll pay for a lead is worked out from your own job values.
- Business-park marketing: a target list, a capabilities page and patient outreach to facility and office managers.
- Main-street marketing: listings, local pages and seasonal pushes for storefronts in Unionville, Markham Village and the plazas.
- Websites: fast pages that answer questions and make calling, texting or emailing obvious.
The arithmetic we start with
Before we suggest a budget, we work out what a customer is worth to you. Here is the kind of sum we do in the first conversation, using your numbers instead of ours.
Say your average job brings in $1,400 and you keep about 35% after materials and labour, which is $490 of gross margin. If you close one in three qualified leads, each lead is worth roughly $163 in margin. Spend more than that per lead and you lose money on new customers, however busy the phone feels. Our seasonal marketing calendar shows how to spread that ceiling across a Markham year, and you can test your own figures before you ever call us.
Built for Markham's map, not the whole GTA
A plumber in Cornell and a plumber in Thornhill are not really competing for the same searches. Google's local results shift with where the searcher stands, and Markham's arterial roads and highways make some trips quick and others slow at rush hour. We design coverage around drive times and real job history, not a circle drawn on a map. The areas page walks through each part of the city and what it means for marketing there.
Thornhill is a special case because it straddles the Markham-Vaughan boundary. If you work both sides, our sister site Vaughan.Marketing covers the other half.
Proof, and what it is proof of
Our published case studies are results from our HVAC work, because that is where the group's portfolio began. Roma Heating & Cooling saw 400% organic traffic growth in 12 months, and HeatLand recorded a 300% lead increase in 6 months on the back of 850+ SEO articles. They show that the method works for local service businesses that sell to homeowners; they are not plumbing, retail or roofing results, and we never present them that way. See the full set on our results page.
Who is behind it
Markham.Marketing is part of the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group of companies, a Canadian group headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia. Ali Sedighi, MBA in Technology Management, leads the Markham work; he started in digital marketing in 2007 and has built 150+ live HVAC websites since then. Read more about how we work, or check our pricing before you get in touch.
To be clear about our role: we are a marketing and consulting service, not a contractor. We never install, repair or service anything, and we don't resell your leads to anyone else.

How it works
Map where the work already comes from
Send us your last 40 or 50 jobs or sales by postal code, your average ticket and roughly how many quotes you win. Those three things show which Markham communities deserve your money.
Agree the plan and the ceiling
We put the channels, the communities and the most you'll spend per lead in writing before any ad goes live, so there are no surprises on the invoice.
Speak to the person doing the thinking
No call centre and no hand-off to a junior. Call, text or email; you'll talk to a senior strategist.
Frequently asked questions
What is Markham.Marketing?
Markham.Marketing is a Canadian digital marketing and business consulting service for trades and local businesses in Markham, Ontario. Ali Sedighi, MBA, runs it from the group's Vancouver, BC head office, and the brand sits within the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca family of companies.
Do you do any of the trade work yourselves?
No. We are not a contractor, and we don't install, repair, renovate or service anything. We plan and run marketing for the businesses that do that work, and we advise owners on growth.
Is Markham big enough to need its own strategy?
Yes. Statistics Canada counted 338,503 residents in 2021, spread across communities that behave very differently, from heritage main streets to newer subdivisions and business parks. A plan that treats the whole city as one audience usually wastes budget.
Do you work with businesses that aren't trades?
Yes. Retailers, studios, personal-service businesses, food businesses and professional offices on Markham's main streets and plazas are a good fit. We don't give medical, legal or financial advice; we handle the marketing.
What does it cost?
The Growth plan is $1,999 a month month-to-month, or $1,499 a month if you bill annually, with 13% HST added. Ad spend is separate and paid to the platform. Eligible trades businesses get a free first consultation.
Your head office is in Vancouver. How do you know Markham?
We work from the City's own open data, census figures and the search results your customers see in each community. Every recommendation is checked against Markham results, and you reach us directly by call, text or email.
